Wooden Toy Train Play Days

The Railroad Museum of Long Island is pleased to announce our ninth annual WOODEN TOY TRAIN PLAY DAYS.  Held on the Museum grounds at 416 Griffing Avenue, across from Riverhead’s Long Island Railroad Station, gates open at 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13, 2019.

This is a special event geared to little train lovers and their families.  We will have tons of wooden track and trains for kids to play with in the “Play Area!”   Color pictures of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends at the “Coloring Station!”  Ride the “Pumpkin Patch Train” where you will select your own pumpkin for face painting!  See model trains run on our “O” ~ “N” ~ “Z” and Garden gauge train layouts!  Try your hand at the Locomotive Races and see a real steam locomotive operate.  Admission for adults: $12.00; children 5 yrs. and up: $6.00; 4 yrs. and younger FREE.

At 10:20 AM you may take the LIRR “Greenport Scoot” to visit our Museum in Greenport and then return to Riverhead.  “Greenport Scoot” tickets are purchased separately onboard the train from the LIRR Conductor.  Admission to Wooden Toy Train Play Days allows you to see both sites on the same day of purchase.
