LIRR 1556
This week, 1556 continued to get some touch ups all around the engine where needed. One of the major things this week was the installtaion of a new window into her cab. Prevously there was a peice of plywood in the rear enginner’s side. A window now takes it’s place and is looking mich better. We also reinstalled all of 1556’s number plates to cover up all holes in the top corners. This looks better and keeps the weather out of the engine.
LIRR 7723
I am proud to announce that another peice in our collection has a brand new paint job. Our Baggage/Tool car now sports two fresh coats of tuscan red paint, specially mixed for the museum. The diffrence is large and greatly noticed around the yard. The handrails and roof also got some touch ups, making this car complete! The inside of 7723 has also gotten come cleaning up!
LIRR 39
This week Engine 39’s cab got a fresh coat of paint to prepare it for the museum’s opening this weekend. Now you can take your photo in a GP-38-2 cab and a G-5s cab! 39’s running gear and face have also gotten some paint in the past few weeks, protetcing the metal for the day we can work on the engine.
BEDT 16.

251 finally has a headlight! Not much has happened with this project this year but the engine looks a heck of a lot better without a huge hole in the front. It also got some blue touch ups on rust spots.
