2022 RMLI Educational Forum
March 19, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
FreeThe Railroad Museum of Long Island is pleased to announce our 2022 Educational Forum
. Trolleys dotted Long Island, providing local north-south transportation to and from town centers and the Long Island Rail Road’s predominantly east-west routes. These 4’ 8½” standard gauge railways were but just another part of “Long Island’s Rich Railroading History!”
. Please join us on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM for a presentation on the “New York and North Shore Traction Company.” Historian, Joe Bux will take us from Flushing to Hicksville on the electric “light rail” line that roughly paralleled the Long Island Rail Road Port Washington Branch beginning in 1910.
. Our location is the Kermit F. Graf building auditorium, Cornell Cooperative Extension – Suffolk County. Enter from Hallett Avenue, Riverhead, New York. Ample on-site parking. Additional parking located at the Railroad Museum of Long Island, across the street at 416 Griffing Avenue. The building is a short walk from the LIRR Riverhead Station and Suffolk County Bus Hub. Admission is FREE.
