This Memorial Day weekend former Long Island Rail Road Combination Baggage Mail Car 7737 was back dated to 1928, now sporting her original PRR Tuscan Red paint. The car now matches the recently repainted tool car, 7723. This weekend volunteers Anthony DeBellis, John Golden and Evan Zeilger worked to apply two coats of Tuscan red paint with black trim on all sides of the car. This is the first time in probably over 20 years the car has received a complete paint job, coupler to coupler, wheels to roof vent. The car needless to say looks amazing. This is part of an on going project to clean up the Riverhead yard. Three pieces in the museums collection remain on the paint list in the yard. This includes P-72 cars 2924, 2933 and Double Decker 200. These cars will be painted in Fall 2012 and Spring 2013.
