Baggage Cars, Tank Engines and Switch Engines

LIRR Baggage Car 7727/ RMLI Tool Car
As an essential part to the RMLI restoration process Baggage Car 7727 has been used a Tool Car and storage unit for the volunteers. She has seen many years of weathering and is in dire need of some TLC. The first step has been taking all the rust and paint chips off the side of the car. The car is also being put into primer as this is done. The roof is in outstanding condition, and will have 2 coats applied to it. The sides of the car will receive two coats of Tuscan red once grinding is complete. The good weather has enabled the museum to start this project ahead of schedule.

LIRR 25 Ton Engine 399

Stainless steal screws have been used to install the rear windows. To date all handrails have been reinstalled to 399 with one coat of primer and one coat off finish.
