2018 Riverhead Railroad Festival

RIVERHEAD RAILROAD FESTIVAL – celebrating!  The 28^th Anniversary of the Railroad Museum of Long Island.
Museum grounds – 416 Griffing Avenue, adjacent to Riverhead’s LIRR Station
from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM – Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26, 2018
Admission for adults $10.00; children 5 yrs. to 13 yrs. $5.00; under 5 yrs. FREE.

See exhibits and working machines of the “Long Island Antique Power Association.”  Ride the restored 1964 ~ 1965 LIRR World’s Fair park train.  Visit the Historic Lionel Layout.  Try your hand at the locomotive races and switching puzzle. Visit railroad preservation groups and historical societies.  View and purchase items from railroad related vendors and visit the Museum Gift Shop.  See operating toy train layouts in “G” scale, “O” scale, “HO” scale, “N” and “Z” scale.   Tour historic railcars and locomotives.  Refreshments by the Kevin Judge family, River Avenue Butcher and Bar-B-Que.  Watch historic blacksmithing demonstrations. Live music!

Take the LIRR “Greenport Scoot” at 10:15 AM to visit our Museum in Greenport and then return to Riverhead at 12:50 PM.  (“Greenport Scoot” tickets are purchased separately onboard the train from the LIRR Conductor.  Admission to the Riverhead Railroad Festival allows you to see both sites on the same day of purchase.)
